- Since all the tours we offer are private we have the flexibility to discuss with you any changes you wish to make in the itinerary.
- During summer time because of the hot climate conditions in Greece we always suggest you to wear light clothes, bring with you a hat and sunscreen and make sure to wear non-slipper comfortable shoes due to the slippery terrain in the archaeological sites.
- Also we always provide child seats or boosters whenever is needed with no extra cost. In case there are children between the passengers and you need a child seat we can provide it with no extra cost.
We will start our Sparta Mystras, Diros Caves and Nafplion 2-day tour by driving out of the city along the scenic coastal road towards west.
Our first stop is the impressive Corinth Canal where you can take pictures and enjoy the breathtaking view by walking on the bridge of the Canal. We will continue our way driving on the highway for 90 minutes and we will arrive to Sparta.
First we will stop in front of the statue of King Leonidas known from the battle of Thermopylae. Right after we will visit the archaeological site and see the ruins of ancient Sparta. Next stop will be the fortified city of Mystras. In the fortified city you will admire the palaces of Michael Palaiologos, who was one of the Byzantine emperors from 1261 until his death, and numerous Byzantine churches. After we will drive you to a local restaurant to enjoy your lunch.
After lunch we will continue our way to Areopolis to check in at the hotel and spend the night there.
We will start our second day after your breakfast and we will first visit Diros Caves. The caves began to form hundreds of thousands of years ago; the stalactites and stalagmites that are now underwater were formed when the sea level was much lower than it currently is. Stalactites have been found at a depth of 71 metres, while the maximum depth of the cave has been discovered off the tourist route, and it reaches 80 metres. Guided tours are offered through almost the whole cave in small boats.
After your visit there we will continue our way towards Nafplion. We will arrive in Nafplion after almost three hours driving, you will admire historical buildings, explore the beautiful small alleys of the town and enjoy your walk in the seaside area of the town. You will enjoy your meal in a local traditional tavern and then we will drive you to the fortress of Palamidi which was built by the Venetians and its located above the town. You will enter the fortress and you will be amazed by the panoramic view of the town. The tour ends by driving you back to Athens.
