Our Argolis tour from Athens starts by driving out of the city along the scenic coastal road towards west. Our first stop is the impressive Corinth Canal where you can take pictures and enjoy the breathtaking view by walking on the bridge of the Canal.
After 45 minutes driving through beautiful villages and passing by orange tree fields and vineyards we will arrive to Mycenae. The ancient citadel of Mycenae was the kingdom of glorious Agamemnon and the Mycenean civilization was one of the most important pillars in the Greek history. In the archaeological site you will admire the Cyclopean walls of the citadel, you will walk through the Lion Gate (symbol of the Mycenean civilization), and see important Mycenean tombs. You will also visit the archaeological museum and a little further down you will be impressed by the tomb of King Agamemnon.
Continuing our Argolis tour from Athens we will head south to the town of Nafplion, one of the most historical towns in the modern history of Greece. You will visit historical buildings, explore the beautiful small alleys of the town and right after you will enjoy your meal in a local restaurant. Next we will drive you to Palamidi fortress which was built by the Venetians and its located above the town.
Our next destination is the Asclepieion of Epidaurus. In the archaeological site you will visit the ancient theatre of Epidaurus which is regarded as the best preserved ancient theatre in Greece in terms of its perfect acoustics and fine structure. The Asclepieion of Epidaurus used to be a therapeutic and religious center dedicated to Asklepios, the god of healing. Our tour ends by driving you back to Athens through a scenic drive along the coast line of Saronic gulf.
